I am the founder and owner of Sphere of Influence (SOI) and established the company in 2002 following a varied career in sectors ranging from Retail through Media to Manufacturing. My corporate life culminated in a fourteen-year journey with Mars Confectionery (now Masterfoods) which included roles in Sales, Trade Marketing, Sales Operations and finally five years working in Sales & Marketing training.

Whilst at Mars I became a licensed practitioner of NLP, and was corporately accredited to train the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Since then I’ve also become a certified consultant and trainer of Words that Change Minds, the Language & Behaviour Profile. During 2006 I worked with the award winning training company Video Arts, as a certified trainer of the acclaimed FISH! philosophy.

Interestingly, there are three key reasons that explain why SOI exists today.

Firstly, back in my days as a corporate training manager and when I was looking to source external training providers, it proved difficult and frustrating to find training companies that could connect with the specific needs and culture of our company. They could sell their product but left it up to the client to actually apply it to their business or marketplace.

I wanted to change that and create a training company that could connect the dots from our training provision to your business vision. As a result, we work hard at SOI to know you and your business well enough to ensure that your training intervention is uniquely applicable to your company's needs and aspirations.

Secondly, SOI exists because we’re passionate about helping individuals, teams and organisations to realise performance breakthroughs at work. Many companies will state that people are their greatest asset. We believe this talent is widely under-developed within the workplace, and that businesses can dramatically stretch their boundaries of success by investing in individuals and trusting in the potential of their people to grow – with both personal and business effect.

And finally, SOI fulfils my personal vocation in life. When working with individuals and organisations in the SOI way, I and my team know we are doing what we were made to do!
